PURPOSE: An optimized packet routing method in an MIPv6(Mobile IPv6) supporting localized mobility management is provided to optimize packet routing in an MIPv6 having a short handoff time, a low binding update cost, and a low tunneling cost and supporting localized mobility management. CONSTITUTION: When an MN(Mobile Node) receives the first packet from a CN(Correspondent Node), the MN counts tunneling packets after judging whether transmitted packets are tunneled from an LMA(Localized Mobility Agent)(S602). Then the MN checks an L2 state(S604). In case that the L2 state is stable(S606), the MN confirms whether the number of counted tunneling packets per second is more than an appointed number(S608). If the number of counted tunneling packets per second is more than the appointed number, the MN transmits a binding update, including an LCoA(on-link Local Care of Address), to the CN(S610). The CN transmits packets directly to the MN without tunneling.
