A method for the production of iron oxide pellets with a low coal dust additive

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide oxide iron pellets high in strength after drying and small in content of impurities, and its manufacturing method, and to provide a manufacturing method for reduced iron pellets high in metallization and high in yield. ;SOLUTION: Water is added to the mixed raw material containing a carboneous material which mainly consists of iron oxide and is sufficient in quantity for reducing the iron oxide, the organic binder of sufficient quantity to bind iron oxide with the carboneous material, and ≥0.05 mass % to 1 mass % inorganic coagulant, to pelletize the mixture into raw pellets. Then, the palletized raw pellets are dried until the water content is ≥1.0 mass % to manufacture iron oxide pallets. The iron oxide pellets are charged in a reducing furnace and the iron oxide pellets are reduced to manufacture the reduced iron pellets.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
