The environment has a module (80) managing an interface permitting a user to graphically design functional blocks and relations between them. A memory (100) stores information having a preset portion of code corresponding to a wired real time hub. Assembling module (120) places/routes portions of codes associated to the blocks and the hub so as to obtain a file (122). The file can be downloaded in a programmable logic array. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of designing a programmable logic array formed in a substrate (B) an information storage medium having instructions for executing the method of designing a programmable logic array formed in a substrate.
