The method involves storing current backup data of a client system (1) in a storage device (24) by a connection (4). Disaster recovery plan backup data is stored in a storage device (25) by a connection (5). Logic information of storage configuration are stored in a database (22`) in two separated memory zones (221, 222) for the current backup and the plan backup, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a data backup and recovering system.
