The device has an external shock absorption unit (53) and an internal shock absorption unit (55) comprising deformable lateral walls (63, 73) respectively having lower thickness. The lateral wall (63) of the external shock absorption unit deforms and absorbs a part of mechanical shock energy during deformation phase during which force necessary to deform the device increases linearly. The lateral walls are totally spaced. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method to fabricate a mechanical shock energy absorption device (B) an equipment part, notably door, of motor vehicle comprising a mechanical shock energy absorption device.
