The device has a vat (2) filled with a fluid (3) of determined density and equipped with an emptying and filling conduit. The vat has a central post (4) for a hopper (5) to admit excavated material mixture. Motorized belt conveyors (6, 7) are disposed inside the vat for respectively extracting floating and decanted materials towards corresponding separated extraction zones (8, 9). Lateral valves control the cleaning of the vat.
