The unit has an upper cross bar (3) and a lateral upright (5) whose two overlapping regions have two discreet zones set back from two edges of the bar and upright, respectively. The discreet zones partially cover themselves, and form crossing passages (41) receiving a connecting part of a plastic reinforcement part. Outlines of the passages are delimited partly by edges of the discreet zones set back from the bar and upright. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle including a structural unit.
