Use of zirconium phosphate (I) (Zr(HPO4)2) and their sodium salts (0.01 wt.%), comprising layers of exfoliated structure (ZrPex) in aqueous medium (where the atomic ratio of sodium/phosphorus is greater than 0.5), as a modifying agent of rheology of an aqueous acid medium (II) (pH lower than or equal to 5 (preferably 4)). An independent claim is also included for aqueous acid medium of pH lower than or equal to 5 (preferably lower than or equal to 3) comprising (I) (0.01 wt.%).
