The compass has an eccentric lever (9) rotatably mounted around an axle (11) parallel to a plane of branches (3, 4) of the compass. The lever slides in a direction orthogonal to the plane of the branches. A blocking screw (8) acts directly or indirectly on articulation disks (6, 7) of the branches and/or on a rod (5) connected kinematically to the disks (6, 7) so as to block the rotation of the branches.
