The system has badges (1a, 1b) associated to carriers (10) e.g. person. Each badge transmits a unique code that permits a locator (2) to differentiate the badges in a same zone. The codes are transmitted cyclically during a very short time lag followed by longer standby duration depending on a hazard. The badges permit the locator to statistically pick up any badge present in its range zone.
