The fitting has a housing (4) to receive a bar (5) integrated to a seat, when the seat is in use position. A cam (7) rotates around an axis of the fitting, under the action of a spring and the bar. The cam includes a recess that is turned towards the entrance of the housing when the seat is in lower position. The cam has a visual mark (17) that is visible to the user, when the bar reaches a nominal position in the housing.
