The device has a closed ring (22) for connecting semi-handles (20) with a box (2). Articulations connect the semi-handles with the ring to allow a displacement of the semi-handles with respect to the ring between a predetermined transport position and a predetermined storage position. The ring has locking noses (26) locking on a ridge (12) of the box and extending on a circumferential part of the ring to fix the ring on the box. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an assembly of a metallic box and a transport device (B) a method for assembling a transport device on a metallic box.
