The system has a server with a data generation unit having a creation unit creating a broadcasting tree (30) and an updating unit updating the tree from information relative to broadcasting of a digital file. A root node (32) of the tree represents a transmitting person (A) and other nodes (34) represent receiving persons (B-G), and a link (36) between the nodes represents an electronic transmission of the file between the persons. An independent claim is also included for a method of monitoring electronic broadcasting of a digital file from a transmitting person of the file.
