The invention relates to a digital decoder of a multi-antenna wireless digital transmit and receive transmission system, for determining symbols transmitted in linear spatio-temporal coded transmission signals over a convolutive binary coding base. This digital decoder is fed by a signal vector Z of received symbols, and a matrix C resulting from the product between a matrix H of the transmission channel and a matrix M of spatio-temporal coding on transmission.This decoder comprises in combination: an exhaustive spatio-temporal decoder for calculating the metric between each possible code word and the signal vector Z of received symbols, and a binary decoder for determining, using said metrics as probabilities of transitions between states of the binary decoder, the the most likely path traversed during convolutional coding, and to deduce the symbols emitted. / P
