The cladding (1) forms a single tight envelope that is adapted to retain the mercury vapors in case of accidental breaking or rupture of a quartz tube (2) constituting a UV lamp. The cladding is connected directly at the contact of the quartz tube with the ends (3) of electrodes of the quartz tube. The cladding is also connected intimately to the ends of the tube. The cladding is made of fluoride polymers.
