Ethylenic copolymer (A) comprises a monomer (I) (10-60 wt.%) or their salts, a cationic monomer (40-90 wt.%) or their salts and optionally nonionic hydrophilic monomers (0-50 wt.%) with the exclusion of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and isopropyl acrylate (higher or equal to 10 wt.%). Ethylene copolymer comprises monomer (I) of formula (CH2=C(R1)(Zx)-(R2)m-(CH2CH2O)n-R3) (10-60 wt.%), primary cationic monomers (40-90 wt.%) of formula ((CH2=C(R1)(Zax1)-(Ra2)m1-X) (IIa), (CH2=C(R1)(Zax1)-(Ra2)m1-Y) (IIb), (CH2=C(R1)(Zax1)-(Ra2)m1-Xa+-(Ra3)n1-Ya-) (IIc) or (CH2=C(R1)(Zax1)-(Ra2)m1-O-P-(O)2-O-(Ra3)n1-Xb+) (IId)) or their salts and optionally nonionic hydrophilic monomers (0-50 wt.%) with the exclusion of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and isopropyl acrylate (higher or equal to 10 wt.%).
