The system has a torsion spring (6) mounted between a screw (51) and a nut (52) so as to exert, on the screw and the nut, an unscrewing torque tending to increase the length of a screw-nut assembly (5). The assembly is mounted on an end of a cable (3) that slides in a flexible cover. The cover has ends, respectively maintained on a shield and on an end of a lever. The screw and nut are axially traversed by an end (32) of the cable. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle seat comprising a control cable device.
