The container (1) is made from double walls (2, 10-13) and a base (14) of welded thermoplastic material, each wall comprising two flat parallel panels (20, 21) with a spacer core (22) between them. The core has a series of square-section corrugations (23) that are welded alternately to the inner surfaces of the opposite panels so that they form a series of parallel channels (24). In one possible use the channels could be used to collect and remove gases given off by a stored fluid.
