The apparatus has an automatic feedback hydraulic pressure system with a compensation cylinder (4) whose pressure increases proportionally with a reduction of volume inside a pipeline between the cylinder and a brake cylinder (6). The excess pressure is sent to a piston of the cylinder (6) via pipeline for applying the pressure to a brake shoe (11) of a tensioning roller so that a force applied from the piston to the shoe is increased.
