Conical shell manufacturing process for e.g. reactor, involves forging only straight shell body for expanding diameter of body to monolithically form flange, while end part forming flange is not forged

The process involves allowing to notch a periphery external to a boundary (A) between an end part (2) forming a flange (5) of a cylindrical shell, and a straight shell body (1a) in a peripheral direction of the shell during or after forging for cutting fibers on the periphery. The body is only subjected to another forging for expanding diameter of the body to form the flange monolithically, and the part is not forged. An independent claim is also included for a conical shell manufactured by a conical shell manufacturing process.
