The lock has a bolt (3) in which is engaged a wire strike (2) to pivot the bolt against a return spring. The bolt pivots beyond a locking position of the strike, against a spring (7) to absorb the energy due to an impact at proximity to the hood of motor vehicle and to cause compression of the hood. The bolt has three locking detents (3a-3c) to receive an insulator nose (4a) of a ratchet (4).
