Two-colour injection mold for motor vehicle interior components has two shells with cavities for different injection regions

The mold (29) is made from two shells (37,39) with a cavity divided into two injection regions (49,51) linked through apertures (53,55). One of the shells has flat solid surface (71,73) allowing it to close off access to other shell's cavity when shells are moved relative to one another, allowing two cavities to be injected with different materials before they are aligned to form single component in two colors. An independent claim is included for a method of injection molding an automobile component using the mold.
