Material layer for the absorption of hyper frequency electromagnetic radiation comprises : (a) core (12) made up of a skeleton in a mineral or synthetic material coated or impregnated with a material with a dielectric constant greater than that of the skeleton, having an angle of leakage that increases fro an external surface of the core, impregnated with heat- hardening resin to the expanded state; (b) external skin (10) permanently integrated with the core, having a transparency to hyper frequency electromagnetic radiation greater than that of the core, made up of a fibre of low dielectric constant in the woven or tangled state, the coherence of the skin and its liaison with the core being assured by a heat-hardening resin in the expanded state; (c) substrate (14) of material reflecting the hyper frequency electromagnetic waves integrated with the surface of the core opposite to the skin by the heat- hardening resin in the expanded state, the resin assuring the cohesion of the material assembly. An independent claim is also included for: fabrication of this material.
