The system has a fixed telephone network (1) for information transmission. The network extends into different compartments and/or passages of a platform. The different compartments and/or passages have wireless information transmission/reception interfaces (2-7) for exchanging the information with complimentary units of user mobile stations located within the range of the compartments and/or passages. The mobile stations include a mobile personal computer (PC) (8), an identification card (9), a camera (10), a mobile telephone (11), biomedical sensor (12) and a personal digital assistant (13).
