The system has two controllers (1, 2) for recording fault context data relative to functioning of electric or electronic components of a vehicle, and connected to a telematic controller (3), where the controllers (1-3) are connected to a power supply network of the vehicle. Controllers (7, 8) diagnose regularly the functioning of the components of the vehicle. The controller (3) transmits the recorded data to a remote server (6). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an assembly for recording a fault context occuring on a motor vehicle (B) a method for recording a fault context occuring on a motor vehicle.
