The method involves acquiring two signals, when a plate of an image acquiring device e.g. microscope (1), is in respective positions, where the signals have non-separated definition fields. The fields are determined based on quantity of information present in the fields and precision of desired calibration. Retiming of the signals is carried out, and retiming parameters are acquired. The device is calibrated based on the parameters.
