The system has a light source (10) associated to an object (1), transmitting a light beam (12) rotating around an axis. Beacons (M1-M4) located in a space (M) carry respective radiation photodetectors. A central control circuit (CCU) receives signals, from the photodetectors, corresponding to the different beams that the photodetectors detect. The circuit calculates the position of the object with respect to the beacons.
