The berth has a seat cover (3) to cover a mattress (2) and a slatted mattress support (1) in a manner to maintain slats (11) of the support on a frame (12) of the support. The frame has a tissue layer intercalated between the slats and the mattress. The slats have at their ends, end caps (4) fitted on the frame. The frame and the cover have self-adhesive bands (31) to maintain the cover in tension. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle equipped of a berth comprising mattress and a slatted mattress support covered by a cover.
