The davit has a single spar (2) supported on a transom (8) of a sailing ship and oriented from each side of the transom by two running riggings (10). The spar is supported towards a mast head (6) moved back by another running rigging (7), where a boat is suspended to the spar. The boat is hoisted by mating the spar and then secured against the transom for its transport. The boat is launched in a reverse manner.
