The block has two vertical walls (102a, 102b) connected by a horizontal wall (114) and including flanges (106a, 106b) that exceed a side of the wall (114) to form a U-shape with a height greater than that of a beam to be inserted into the U-shaped flanges. Inner sides of each flange have abutments (106, 108) separated from free ends of the flanges (106a, 106b) at a distance equal to the thickness of the beam. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a lintel manufacturing method (B) a basement wall manufacturing method.
