The method involves measuring operation variables by a sensor placed in a zone of an internal combustion engine in order to determine average values of operation variables for injectors. Each injector is provided with a same set point of a flow rate of fuel to be injected, where the injectors are in a same initial state at a beginning of a test. The state of each injector is changed successively during the test, in a selective manner. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle equipped with several cylinders having injectors.
