The housing has a base (1) and a cover (2) mounted in telescopic manner with respect to the base. The base has an upper edge extended by two supports (6) and the cover has two supports (7). Elastic units (5) are intercalated between the supports (6, 7) such that the elastic units are compressed between the supports, when the cover is compressed by a force (F) that corresponds to mechanical action of smashing of a hood on the housing. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle having air cleaner housing.
