The device has thrust ball bearings (21) including a cage (23) and balls (22) inserted in orifices in the cage. The bearings include hollow raceway (24) between a ratchet wheel (5) and a bearing plate (9). The raceway and the bearing plate are dimensioned, such that engagement of the balls in the raceway allows self-centering of the balls on a screw, where the cage is carried by the balls. An independent claim is also included for a no-back braking mechanism of a device actuating a mobile unit.
