The method involves programming a mobile terminal for automatically searching a cell in a network e.g. universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS) network, in an end of a communication effected in another network e.g. global system for mobile communication (GSM) network. The terminal effectuates a routing area updating (RAU) procedure for updating location zones when the searched cell is found. An independent claim is also included for a multimode cellular communication network.
