The method involves connecting a diagnostic tool (20) on a multiplexed network (16) of a vehicle and receiving a signal from acquainted pressure sensor of wheel by a receiver associated to a central unit (2). Data carried by the signal is sent on the network, read by the tool and displayed on a display screen of the tool. The data corresponding to the activated sensor is downloaded in a memory (12) of the unit. An independent claim is also included for a central unit of a tire pressure control system associated to a receiver.
