The device has guide vanes (4) mounted on pivots (6) coupled to levers (10) coupled to actuating rings (14) that surround a stator casing (8). A bridge (22) has two branches, each fixed on the actuating ring. An actuator is fixed to the casing and acts on the bridge. The device that acts on the actuating rings is arranged between the rings and does not extend beyond the rings. An independent claim is also included for an aircraft engine comprising a variable pitch guide vane actuating device.
