The SFC procedure, comprising supercritical fluid pumping (3), injection (5) of a sample into a chromatography column (6), detection (7) and collection of fractions (8), includes an initial division (X) between analytical (1) and preparatory (2) channels prior to the pumping operation. The two channels (1, 2) have their own supercritical fluid pumping (3a, 3b) and injection (5a, 5b) operations, while the collecting operation is common to both channels. A modifier such as an organic solvent can be added to the supercritical fluid by pumping into a common channel prior to a second division (Y) into two channels.
