The device has sensors (101), e.g. piezoelectric sensor, for measuring physical quantities, e.g. deformation, concerning the state of a marine structure and connected to an Intranet (102) through an electronic interface box (103) for transmitting the measured physical quantities to a local computer (104). The computer processes and archives the measured physical quantities in a database and provides the contents of the database to an operator. The computer transmits the measured quantities to a remote computer (105) through the Internet (106). An independent claim is also included for automatically controlling a marine structure using a marine structure controlling device.
