A medical diagnostics tool has a tendon reflex hammer comprising a percussive head B2/B adjacent an end of a shaft B1/B, the tool includes a generating device, which may be in the form of a piezoelectric device, adapted to generate at least one acoustic tone having a predetermined frequency. The generating device may be located in the shaft B1/B. The generating device may be adapted to generate a vibration at a plurality of frequencies and have on-off switches B10/B, B11/B, B13/B, B14/B for each frequency. There may also be an indicator light B12/B to indicate that a frequency is being generated. The indicator light may be a light emitting diode and the tool may have a battery located in the shaft. The shaft may be telescopic and the tool may connect to further implements such as an ophthalmoscope or a peak flow meter.
