摘要
Current remote in ear monitors (R-IEM) for stage performers and musicians utilise analogue radio channels with each musician being assigned their own frequency channel on which they receive their own particular mix. The invention proposes digitising the music mixes in an ADC and then multiplexing them on to a common digital wireless channel. A direct sequence spread spectrum protocol such as Wi-Fi is suggested. Each musician's R-IEM would then demultiplex and extract their mix from the common wireless signal and convert it through a DAC for playback in earphones. The overall transmission path would be low latency. The resolution of the ADC can be varied to allow a trade off between the number of musicians and the bit rate and quality of each of their mixes.
