PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplication device allowing improvement of recovery possibility of a file, and to provide a file recovery method for the duplication device, and a program. PSOLUTION: When an I/O error occurs to requirement of file access of update or reference of a job 5, a temporary file space 14 is secured even if cannot secure a substitutional file space 13, and a file recovery means 7 decides that it succeeds in backup when succeeding in the backup. When failing in the backup even if can secure the temporary file space 14, when cannot secure the temporary file space 14, or when the temporary file space 14 disappear even if can secure the temporary file space 14, the file recovery means 7 decides that it fails in the recovery, and sets the processing as the I/O error.
