PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and an apparatus with which in the case of producing a magnesium-based metal sheet material with a continuous casting, the sheet material can be produced in good yield by preventing the development of defect, such as crack.;SOLUTION: When magnesium-based molten metal is supplied in a gap between one pair of rolls 4a,4b for casting and sheet-like material is cast to make the sheet material, as at least one of roll between the rolls for casting, the roll forming recessed and projected parts on the surface, is used. On the sheet material with this way, the recessed and projected pattern is clearly transferred on the surface, and the sheet is useful as a magnesium-based decorative metal sheet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
