PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color decomposing and composing prism capable of performing color decomposition, analysis and color composition by one prism and having an optical film disposition which does not give adverse influence on an image.;SOLUTION: The color decomposing and composing prism 2 is formed by joining four prism members 21 to 24. The color decomposing and composing prism has at least five optical surfaces on the outer surface thereof. Each prism member has at least three optical surfaces including two optical surfaces orthogonal to each other.
