PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the time for developer replenishment and the residual amount of the developer device in a developer storage unit by one developer residual amount detecting unit.;SOLUTION: The toner residual amount detection device 60 of the toner storage unit 15 of the image forming apparatus to be replenished with the toner for a specified period in a development device 13 from the toner storage unit 15 is equipped with a memory 61, a replenishment amount detecting means 62, and a toner residual amount detecting means 63 of the toner storage unit 15. The memory 61 memorizes the relation between the toner residual amount of the toner storage unit 15 and the toner replenishment amount to the development device 13. The replenishment amount detecting means 62 detects the replenishment amount of the toner replenished from the toner storage unit 15 to the development device 13. The toner residual amount detecting means 63 detects the amount of the toner stored in the toner storage unit 15 because of the relation between the toner residual amount of the toner storage unit 15 and the toner replenishment amount to the development machine 13 memorized in the memory 61 from the replenishment amount detected by the supply amount detecting means 62.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
