PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein since a conventional driving circuit of an OCB (optically compensated birefringence) liquid crystal display unit requires a black insertion enable signal, signal control on the side of a controller becomes complex.;SOLUTION: A driving circuit of an OCB liquid crystal display unit is equipped with a controller 110, having a controller circuit 111 which generates a black insertion signal start pulse BSTH, including information that indicates writing of the gradation of the black insertion signal to a register for black insertion and information that indicates whether the black insertion signal should be output and generates an OCB liquid crystal drive output load pulse STB, including information indicating timing, when the black insertion signal is output and the timing when a video signal is output; and a source driver 120, having a source driver circuit 121 which outputs the black insertion signal to the OCB liquid crystal display unit, by using the generated black insertion signal start pulse BSTH and the generated OCB liquid crystal drive output load pulse STB.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
