PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress failures of a game ball counter or damage caused by illegal actions or the like by players to a minimum by confirming, for each spot, whether a game ball detection function of a game ball detector normally operates.;SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a game ball detector which comprises a detection coil 11 disposed by being wound around a metallic game ball passage (300) and a high frequency oscillation circuit 12 including the detection coil and outputs a game ball pass signal by discriminating passing of a game ball from an oscillation state of the high frequency oscillation circuit. A switching means 16 is provided for bringing both terminals of the detection coil into short-circuited state, the switching means is controlled by a detection coil short-circuit control signal CS0, and both the terminals of the detection coil are forcibly brought into short-circuited state, thereby confirming operation from the game ball pass signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
