PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual release mechanism of a deenergization operation type electromagnetic brake usable even outdoors and capable of manually releasing a brake by a convenient operation.;SOLUTION: A screw 10 for releasing the brake is threaded into a screw hole 20a formed in a brake cover 20 covering the deenergization operation type electromagnetic brake B through a rubber bush 30. A stopper 32 sets a loosening allowable position for the screw 10 for releasing the brake. Namely, the head part of the screw 10 for releasing the brake is fitted to the brake cover 20 of the rubber bush 30 to secure sealability in the brake cover 20 by bringing the rubber bush 30 in an elastically deformed state in both the operated state and the released state of the brake by adjusting the mounting position of the stopper 32.
