PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gypsum which has low mercury content or is recyclable or landfill-disposable though it has high mercury content, from absorbing liquid containing gypsum and mercury discharged from a flue-gas desulfurization apparatus.;SOLUTION: A method for immobilizing the mercury in absorbing liquid containing gypsum after gas-liquid contact with combustion flue-gas in the flue-gas desulfurization apparatus 10, includes a process for unevenly distributing mercury in the absorbing liquid into the liquid side or solid side, by adding additives to the absorbing liquid from an additive supplying machine 50. By separating the absorbing liquid with mercury unevenly distributed in the liquid side by a gypsum separator 30 into solid and liquid, gypsum with the low mercury content can be obtained.
