An EEPROM 17 is housed in the portable device 2. Frequency information Df is written in the EEPROM 17. When the ID signal Sid is sent out, the portable device 2 returns the ID signal Sid to the vehicle at the frequency based on the frequency information Df of the EEPROM 17. In the portable device 2, the frequency of the ID signal Sid can be adjusted by LF communication with a frequency adjusting device 24.
