METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CALCULATING VOLUME OF CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE SITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a method and apparatus for properly performing calculation of the volume of a cerebral hemorrhage site.;SOLUTION: About a plurality of images of continuous slices obtained by photographing by an X-ray CT apparatus the head which develops cerebral hemorrhage, the ROI about a normal brain parenchyma section and the ROI about the cerebral hemorrhage section are respectively established (305 and 307), and the average values of the CT values of pixels within the ROI about the normal brain parenchyma section are respectively calculated about the plurality of images (317). The shift amount of the average value of the other image is calculated for each of the images on the basis of the average value of the one image (319), and the CT value of the pixel within the ROI about the cerebral hemorrhage section is adjusted for each of the images using the shift amount for each image (321). The maximum value throughout the plurality of images about the CT value after adjustment is specified (323), and the volume of the cerebral hemorrhage section is calculated (325).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
